The French association of Crigler-Najjar was created by and for patients and families of patients.
Crigler-Najjar disease is caused by a deficiency of an enzyme in the liver, it is an extremely rare genetic disorder, approximately 1 in 1,000,000 births.
Phototherapy is a treatment using large devices that scatter blue light with a specific wavelength to break down bilirubin.
Despite the extreme rareness of this disease, a European clinical trial CureCN led by Généthon, is underway on a few patients.
